Fire truck filled!

The fire truck was indeed filled yesterday as the North Bay Fire and Emergency Services teamed up with Parker’s Your Independent Grocer to collect food for the North Bay Food Bank.

Donations were collected from 10:00am through to 6:00pm with 1,053 pounds of food contributed and $1,581 in monetary donations, along with $50 in gift cards.

“Every year during the food drive we are reminded of the generosity of the people of North Bay,” said Sheri Korn, Captain of Fire Prevention.  “We are grateful to Parker’s
Your Independent Grocer to allow us the opportunity to help the North Bay Food Bank which provides such an important service to our community.”

Food Bank manager Amber Livingstone is pleased by the success of the event, “Our local Fire and Emergency Services continue to be great community supporters! This event provided the opportunity for the young, and the young at heart to get a chance to see a firetruck up close and donate to help our neighbours in need. Thank you to our local fire station personnel for volunteering their time, and to everyone who made a donation.”

The North Bay Food Bank is available to accept food and monetary donations year round. The food bank is located at 1016 Fisher Street in North Bay and is open to serve clients Mondays and Tuesdays from 9:00am until noon, and Wednesdays and Thursdays from 3:00pm until 6:00pm. Extended business hours are available for those wishing to make donations at the food bank.
