Ontario’s Finance Minister is promising a “true and accurate picture,” of the province’s financial situation.
Vic Fedeli, also MPP for Nipissing, said in advance of delivering this Thursday’s Fall Economic Statement the report will be sobering for the people of Ontario.
Fedeli said the government, led by Premier Doug Ford, will deliver on a “new accountability measure and you will not see any more phony numbers from the province of Ontario.”
The Tories claim Ontario’s deficit sits at $15 billion, a number the party has adopted after the books were examined by a commission of inquiry into the previous government’s finances.
Asked if there will be cuts to address the deficit, Fedeli said the government is focused on finding efficiencies, rather than making cuts.
