Here’s a heads up if you’re a regular user of Highway 17B, also known as Main Street West in North Bay.
The Ministry of Transportation is advising the public about a short-term road closure required on Highway 17B at the Duchesnay Creek Bridge crossing, 800 metres east of Highway 17. The bridge will be closed from 6:00am to 6:00pm Tuesday to Friday, January 8-11.
The closures are required for structural inspections of the existing Duchesnay Creek Bridge as the Ministry of Transportation will be attempting to determine its condition.
This work is part of the bridge replacement project the MTO is undertaking and the inspections will also help determine the kind of load the bridge can handle until it’s replaced.
The MTO says during the closures, vehicles can use a short detour through Highway 17 and adds access to Couchie Memorial Drive is not affected coming from Highway 17.
For the latest information on highway closures and construction the public can call 511, MTO’s Road Information Line, or check www.511on.ca.
