Not all are pleased about the way the Ford government is going about its business and will rally today outside Nipissing MPP Vic Fedeli’s constituency office to show it.
“It’s obvious to us that Doug Ford’s game plan is to rapidly defund education and healthcare so that he can make the case for more privatization,” said Henri Giroux, North Bay and District Labour Council President.
The Labour Council says changes to autism programming, environmental protection, healthcare, and education are creating chaos.
The group says hospitals and classrooms are already “cash-poor, running on barebones budgets, and yet the PCs plan massive cuts. These cuts will directly impact the lives of people in [northern] Ontario, in a big way.”
Giroux added, “That’s why we’re having a ‘Hands Off our publicly funded services’ rally today at 4:30pm in front of MPP Fedeli’s office. We’ve heard enough, Ford’s agenda is clearly obvious, and we’re preparing to fight back.”
