Fire Services and Food Bank teaming up once again

North Bay Fire and Emergency Services and the Food Bank are once again teaming up.

On Wednesday the two will be outside of Parker’s Independent Grocer for the annual “Fill a Firetruck” initiative.

The fire crews and Food Bank will be accepting food donations of the non-perishable variety along with personal hygiene products.

Last October the event collected over 1000 pounds in food donations and over $1500 in monetary donations.

“Every year during the food drive we are reminded of the generosity of the people of North Bay,” said Fire Prevention Officer Chris Nichol. “We are grateful to Parkers Your Independent Grocer to allow us the opportunity to help the North Bay Food Bank which provides such an important service to our community.”

The North Bay Food Bank is available to accept food and monetary donations year-round. The food bank is located at 1016 Fisher Street in North Bay and is open to serve clients Mondays and Tuesdays from 9:00am until noon, and Wednesdays and Thursdays from 3:00pm until 6:00pm.
