Voodoos add free agent defenceman

The Powassan Voodoos have added another defenceman with a free-agent signing of American Jack Craycroft.

“I’m very excited to join the Voodoos,” said the 2000 birth year defender. “I have heard great things about the organization and their history of winning. I can’t wait to come in and try to help carry on that tradition.”

The blueliner began the season with the Flin Flon Bombers of the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League (SJHL). In 22 games with the Bombers, the Iowa native had one goal, and two assists for three points.

Voodoos head coach Max Gavin is excited to insert Craycroft into the lineup.

“He is a big body who takes pride in his defensive zone play and will be looked to play minutes against other teams top lines,” said Gavin.

Craycroft is expected to be in the lineup tonight when Powassan takes on the Timmins Rock in a battle between the top two teams in the NOJHL.
