North Bay Police Service is reporting $31, 493 worth of drugs, related items and money has been taken off the streets after arresting two area residents.
Officials say around 10:00 p.m. on Monday, an investigation led to a traffic stop by North Bay OPP on Highway 11 just south of North Bay. A 38-year-old from Powassan has been charged with:
- One count of Traffic Controlled Substance
- Two Counts of Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking
- One Count of Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime
- One count of Fail to Comply with Release Order
A 37-year-old from North Bay has been charged with:
- One count of Trafficking in a Controlled Substance
- Two counts of Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking
Police say a search of the vehicle ended with them seizing:
- 3 grams of suspected cocaine
- $4,553 in Canadian currency
Officials say the investigation led to searching a home on Lakeshore Drive, and a vehicle that was there. Police seized the car, a black 2020 Audi as offence related property, and other items including:
- Packaging material
- Digital scales
- Cutting agents
- Approximately 5 grams of suspected cocaine
The Powassan resident remains in custody pending a bail hearing. The accused from North Bay has been released and will appear before court on July 14.
