Be prepared for hot and humid weather this weekend

A heat warning continues for North Bay and West Nipissing.  Environment Canada says temperature will get to about 30 today and the humidex will make it feel close to 40.  The City of North Bay has designated cooling centres during the heat warning at the Pete Palangio Arena, West Ferris Community Centre, North Bay Public Library, and the North Bay Transit Terminal.  Drink plenty of liquids, especially water, before you feel thirsty to decrease your risk of dehydration and frequently visit neighbours, friends and older family members, especially those who are chronically ill, to make sure that they are cool and hydrated.
The heat warning is expected to last throughout the weekend.
