Snow depth is listed above average in North Bay while it’s right on the norm in Chisholm and Corbeil.
The latest measurements were taken by the North Bay-Mattawa Conservation Authority on Friday and show snow depth was up 9.7 cm since the last tally on Jan. 2.
“The combined average snow depth of 40.6 cm and snow water equivalence of 58 mm at the three snow course locations,” says Angela Mills, NBMCA Water Resources Specialist. “Precipitation, combined rain and snow, recorded at the North Bay Airport climate station for October, November, and December was a total of 275.4 mm this year, which is 98.8% of the long-term average (1991-2020) of 278.5 mm, prompting the end of the low water advisory [last] week,”
