Golf for kids with Battalion alumni sells out

Battalion and NHL Alumni traded in their hockey sticks for some golf clubs to raise money for kids.

The fourth annual One Kids Place Charity Golf Tournament took place Monday with 38 teams participating. That included some of North Bay’s favourite Battalion players Nick Paul, Mike Amadio, Jake Smith, Kyle Wood and Mathew Santos.

Jason Corbett is with One Kids Place and says it is heartwarming to see this many people supporting a great cause.

He says the money raised goes directly into programs and services at One Kids Place. But he says these are specialized programs that go above and beyond the ministry funded programs.

He says it allows the kids to get the little bit of extra help that they need. Corbett says the partnership is a great combination.

He says the Battalion bring a lot of excitement to the community and makes the golf tournament just that much more special.

In the last three years this tournament has raised $125,000.
