Across the globe there are an estimated 775-million people over the age of 15 who are illiterate.
The Rotary Club of North Bay is holding its Third World Literacy dinner fundraiser this Saturday.
All the money raised from this event will go toward providing basic education and literacy in third world countries.
This is an ongoing project of the Rotary Club of North Bay and it has a special partnership with the Guatemala Literacy Project.

Guatemalan Ambassador to Canada Rita Claverie de Sciolli will be the guest speaker.
Tickets for the event are $30 and the doors open at 5:30pm at the Davedi Club.
