North Bay OPP has laid its fourth impaired driving charge of 2020.
Around 5:00 p.m. on Monday, officers were called to a traffic complaint on Highway 17 in Mattawa. Police found the vehicle on John Street, and after stopping the car and talking to the driver, officers say they “detected an odour of alcohol.”
This resulted in the 28-year-old from Bracebridge being charged with:
- Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration 80 Plus
- Drive Motor Vehicle with Open Container of Liquor
Officers also suspended the drivers’ licence for 90 days and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.
The driver has been released with a court date in North Bay for February 18.
