OPP say driver clocked at 163 km/h in a 90 km/h zone on Hwy 17

For the second time this week, a stunt driving charge has been filed on Highway 17 East.

This time in Calvin Township.

The North Bay OPP says an officer was conducting moving radar enforcement and spotted a westbound vehicle travelling at 163 km/h in a posted 90 km/h zone.

The vehicle was stopped, and the 25-year-old driver from Crystal Falls was charged.

The driver’s licence was also suspended for 30 days, and the vehicle was impounded for 14 days.

The accused has a court appearance in North Bay at a later date.

On Tuesday, an Ottawa motorist was charged with stunt driving in Rutherglen.
