Nipissing West OPP seize $14,000 worth of suspected Fentanyl

A 33-year-old North Bay resident is facing a charge of drug possession for the purpose of trafficking after Nipissing West OPP seized about $14,000 worth of suspected Fentanyl.

Provincial police say they responded to an unwanted person at a gas station on Front Street in Sturgeon Falls just before 5 am on Wednesday.

They say the caller reported a person had been in the washroom for over an hour and was not responding.

The OPP says officers arrived and saw signs of a possible medical emergency, requested medical assistance, and the person was taken to hospital.

Once medically able to speak with officers, the person was arrested and charged.

The accused was released with a Feb. 4 court appearance in North Bay.
